Manchester United new boy Memphis Depay is being tipped to succeed in the Premier League due to striking similarities with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Red Devils agreed a £25m deal with Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven in May and the 21-year-old will seal his move to Old Trafford when the transfer window opens next month.
Depay finished as the top scorer in the Dutch league last term and has been compared to his compatriot Arjen Robben for his direct style of play.
However, Dutch journalist Thijs Slegers has tracked Depay for a number of years and believes he’s more like former Manchester United favourite Ronaldo.

‘I don’t agree with the Robben comparison as Arjen is like Peter Pan when he’s dribbling, whereas Memphis is more about power,’ Slegers told Manutd.com.
‘Memphis can dribble also but when you see him move you can see the strength in his movement – this really scares defenders.
‘Memphis is a little bit like Cristiano; they have similar qualities, although there are of course areas where Memphis is inferior.
‘However, his determination to be the best is where I see the real similarity with Cristiano.’
