Hull City defender Alex Bruce hails Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney ahead of weekend clash

Hull City defender Alex Bruce believes Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney has the quality to cause damage to his side at any time and insists the forward is a great talent, ahead of the meeting of the two clubs on Saturday.
Hull travel to Old Trafford on Saturday to take on Louis van Gaal’s side, with a return for Bruce sure to be a memorable one for his father as he pits his wits against a new Manchester United coach.
The ex-United defender has impressed as manager of Hull and his side were unfortunate not to take all three points in their previous league game, after a Gaston Ramirez red card swung the game in Tottenham’s favour.
They face a Manchester United side who are full of confidence after their win away at Arsenal last week, with Rooney in particular firing on all cylinders.
Bruce, who hopes to return to first-team action following a hamstring problem, believes the England skipper could be a handful on Saturday, telling reporters: “Wayne is always a threat isn’t he? He’s a great player. I watched the Manchester derby and he nearly scored a great goal with a turn when he ran through, only to be knocked off the ball at the end.
“It shows the quality he has and he’s always capable of scoring a great goal at any given moment, like he did at the KC Stadium last season when he produced a little bit of magic with a 25-yard volley from nowhere that got them back into the game. It’s one thing we have to keep on top of.”
