Luke Shaw out for SIX WEEKS after Man Utd ace damages ankle ligaments

LUKE SHAW could be out until the New Year after damaging his ankle ligaments in Manchester United's win over Arsenal.

Shaw limped out of United's 1-0 victory at the Emirates last Saturday after just 16 minutes.

And it is bad news for the 19-year-old, who is expected to be out for at least a month and may not play again this year.

According to reports, Shaw could be sidelined for as much as six weeks - missing EIGHTUnited games.

United had been boosted by the return to training of defender Marcos Rojo following his dislocated shoulder.

Jonny Evans and Ander Herrera are also available again, appearing to ease Louis van Gaal's injury crisis.

But Shaw's setback will raise question marks over the left-back position, with Patrice Evra and Alexander Buttner having departed in the summer.

Ashley Young provided emergency cover against Arsenal and could deputise in Shaw's absence, while Rojo, Tyler Blackett and Reece James could fill in.
