Man United finally have an upper hand with injuries
Manchester United have had their fair share of injury problems this season but going into the game against Southampton, it is the club from the South Coast who are facing an injury crisis.
Midfielders Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin have all been important player for Southampton this week but are expected to miss the game against United on Monday. Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld deputised in midfield last night for Cork is now also expected to miss the match.
"A lot of midfielders are injured and that creates a lot of problems," Koeman told BBC Radio Solent.
"I will speak to the board about what we need and what we would like to do."
For United, it's a bonus that for once they seem to be the club who is in better shape with injuries going into a game.
Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit and Radamel Falcao has now made two consecutive substitute appearances from the bench, so United's attack is looking very strong.
Defensively, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans are still both out but Rafael is also expected to be available for selection having joined back in training this week.
Southampton is going to be a very tough game away from home but with some key players injured and the club currently on a two game losing streak, United seem to be playing them at the right time, especially going into it on a four game winning streak.
