Wayne Rooney became number 43, the number of injuries that have piled up at Old Trafford since Louis van Gaal took over at Manchester United, last week.  But he underwent a knee scan on Wednesday and it turns out he’ll be good to go on Monday night. United are confident Wayne Rooney will be ready to face Southampton, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The M.E.N. also write that Radamel Falcao will be also be available, making it the first time the pair of strikers will be active in the same game since the 2-1 win over West Ham on September 27th.
“My opinion is that it is not so heavy but I am not a doctor. We will have a scan and we will know more.”
Wayne Rooney suffered the injury in the win over Hull City and he sat out today’s 2-1 win over Stoke City. United enter Monday’s clash at St. Mary’s in fourth place, with the Saints in third. The Red Devils would leapfrog Southampton with a victory.
