Wayne Rooney back to full fitness for Manchester United

Manchester United’s captain and talisman is back to full fitness.
Wayne Rooney, 29, did not feature for the Red Devils in their 2-1 win over Stoke City on Tuesday due to a knee injury he picked up  in the 3-0 win against Hull City last weekend.
However after undergoing a scan to assesses the severity of the injury, reports from various UK outlets state that Rooney will be fit to face Southampton next Monday (Watch live, NBCSN, 3 p.m. ET andonline via Live Extra) in a big battle between two top four contenders at St Mary’s.
United struggled to break down a stubborn Stoke side without Rooney but found a way to win and Louis van Gaal’s side have now won four-straight in the PL. If they beat Southampton, they will jump above Saints and into the top three.
With Radamel Falcao returning from injury, plus young striker James Wilson also stepping up to the plate in Rooney’s absence, van Gaal will have a difficult decision to make next Monday as to who he starts in attack. Angel Di Maria may not return but Robin Van Persie may now be sweating on his starting spot with so many options at LVG’s disposal.
However there’s no doubting that Rooney will be straight back in the team, as he knits everything together as United keep pushing to get back to the top of the PL.
