Manchester United contact to sign defensive midfielder confirmed, now awaiting bid
Lucas Silva is back on the scene. Several British newspapers brought European gossip together and the Daily Express had a piece on Tuesday naming him the 'new Kaka'. In Brazilian football every young player has to be the reincarnation of a great before him but Kaka is perhaps the wrong choice this time, Lucas Silva is more of a defensive midfielder. It all stems from the player's agent Luiz Rocha yet again doing his best to stoke the fires of interest. Alexandre Mattos , director of sport at the player's current club Cruzeiro, has been at it too an spoken to FC Inter News about possible interest - confirming no bid has been made, and that no Inter contact had been made but also saying that if the Italian club wanted Lucas Silva they would have to pay a "substantial sum".
