Cricket records another death in Israel as an unnamed unpire is hit in the face by a ball after it ricocheted off the stumps
While tributes were still pouring in for Phillip Hughes who died from a ball hit in an Australian domestic cricket match, the sport witnessed another death at the weekend; this time, an umpire.
The man, unnamed was standing at his post when the ball hit him in the face after it ricocheted off the stumps from a shot that came straight down the pitch, in a cricket match in the Ashdod area of Israel, where most of the residents are majorly immigrant Indians
The 60 year-old victim was taken to hospital but could not recover as he died from the injuries from the hit.
