The beneficiaries include the First Consultants Hospital in Obalende, where the late Dr Stella Adadevoh used to work before her death, the doctor’s son, Bankole Cardoso, 13 survivors and other relatives of victims of the disease.
The government of Lagos state has donated a total sum of N76 million to persons affected by the Ebola outbreak within the state.
The beneficiaries include the First Consultants Hospital in Obalende, where the late Dr Stella Adadevoh used to work before her death, the doctor’s son, Bankole Cardoso, 13 survivors and other relatives of victims of the disease.
The donation was made on Friday, November 28 by the state Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris.
Idris said:
“…It is our own effort to the (survivors) and the loved ones that died that they are the heroes and heroines of this containment activity and that there is no need for them to be stigmatised, we should celebrate them.”
Nigeria recorded 21 cases of Ebola and eight deaths before being declared Ebola-free on October 20, 2014.
