Stoke have confirmed that midfield duo Steve Sidwell and Glenn Whelan are going to miss the Potters’ clash with Man United and are set for a couple of weeks out.
Sidwell picked up the knee injury in the 1-0 loss away to Liverpool on Saturday, and Mark Hughes says the he’ll be without the player for up to six weeks.
Mark Hughes confirmed: Steve Sidwell has had a scan & he is likely to be out for 4-6 weeks.
Sidwell has made six appearances for Mark Hughes’ team this season in the league. His injury came in the first half against Liverpool.
After their 1-0 loss at Anfield on Saturday, Stoke currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League, a point below Liverpool.
Stoke are set for a difficult run of fixtures this month. On Tuesday they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, followed by a home game against Arsenal on Saturday. After some respite against Crystal Palace, they then entertain Chelsea just before Christmas.
