Wayne's singing skills were soon ridiculed and put into question, and it seems that one viewer who wasn't ready to give his royal seal of approval was William.
"Er, no more duets with Wayne Rooney," the Prince joked, when he met chart topper Ed at theRoyal Variety Performance last month.

The red-haired crooner gave more details about his meeting with William backstage, admitting that he was unsure whether the royal and his wife Kate had seen the video for themselves.
"I think they have a dude that preps them so they have one thing to mention," Ed added to The Mirror.
"He knew something about all the people he met before me – it's an amazing skill. I was like, 'Thanks for having me, mate. Nice one.'"
"I don't know if they're fans," said Ed, of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who attended the show together. "Do royals have iPods and things like that?"

Last month an amusing video of Ed and Wayne surfaced online, showing an out-of-tune Wayne attempting to sing along Lego House, one of the Brit-award winner's classics.
As Wayne warbled out of pitch, Ed was seen strumming along on his guitar and stifling a giggle as he encouraged the athlete on.
Ed explained how the musical session came about, saying: "Rooney's been trying to come to a gig for three years. He actually booked me for his birthday party, but I had a gig the same night.
"[His wife] Coleen came down to my Leeds show, and said Wayne was going to come down to Manchester with a load of mates.
"They rented out a lovely dingy pub that just did Jagerbombs and beer. Chris Smalling, Wretch 32 and Example were there, as well as our mates – we had a lock in until 4am. Then I took it back to my hotel room with everyone and we finished around 7am."
